This Privacy Policy governs the privacy practices of Indian Nurses Association of New York (collectively “INA-NY,” “we,” “our” or “us”) related to our website located at https://www.inany.org/, (collectively, the “Site”) and member accounts and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy (‘Policy’) governs our use of your information and describes how we collect, process, use and transfer your information when you access our Site and Services. By accessing our Site or using our Services, you explicitly consent to this Policy and our Terms of Use, which is fully integrated herein.

A. Collection of Information

We collect information about you directly from you and automatically through your use of our Site and Services.  We may combine information automatically collected with other information that we have collected about you including from publicly available sources.

The Site and Services are not directed to children under eighteen (18) years of age and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete such personal information from our systems.

Information We Collect Directly From You. When you interact with our Site and Services, including for example using our “Contact Us” feature or submitting a “Membership Application”, you voluntarily provide certain information to us. We may collect information including but not limited to, your name, e-mail address, phone number, date of birth, last four digits of your social security number If you register for an account or opt to pay your bill online, you may also provide your account number, and other financial information. Further, if you utilize our “Career Center” feature, all information provided on your resume is subject to this Policy.

Information Collected Automatically. Like many websites, we and our service providers may use cookies, web beacons and other technologies to receive and store certain types of information when you interact with us through your computer or mobile device subject to your opt-out preferences (see “Your Choices; Opt-Out; Do-Not–Track Disclosures; Third-Party Tracking” section below). Using these technologies helps us customize your experience with our Services, improve your experience, and tailor marketing messages. Here are some of the types of information we may collect:

Complying with Legal Obligations.We may disclose your personal information to any competent authority including but not limited to the law enforcement body, regulatory, government agency, court or other third-party where we have a reason to believe that such disclosure is necessary to (i) comply with and enforce the law or legal process, including contractual obligations, and our policies; (ii)  protect the rights, property and safety of, or to prevent fraud or abuse of our platform or others, and (iii) respond to requests from public and government authorities.
  4. To Provide Advertisements and Promotional Content. We may share your information with third-parties who may further use this information to understand your preferences and send you relevant advertising and promotional content

D. Information Security

We use reasonable precautions, including technical, administrative, and physical procedures, to protect personal information from loss, misuse, or alteration. Guaranteed security does not exist on the Internet or offline, but we do make commercially reasonable efforts to handle such information consistent with this Policy and applicable laws.  Due to the design of the Internet and other factors outside our control, we cannot guarantee that communications between you and our servers will be free from unauthorized access by third-parties.

We retain your personal information to (a) fulfill the purposes for which the information was collected, (b) comply with our legal obligations, (c) prevent fraud, (d) resolve disputes, (e) enforce our policies and (f) maintain our relationship with you.

The Site and Services may contain links to other third-party websites, which may have their own privacy policies and terms and conditions that are not governed by this Policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any website(s) owned and operated by any such third-parties. G. Your Choices; Opt-Out; Do-Not–Track Disclosures; Third-Party Tracking

  1. Opt-Out.If you receive any promotional email communication from us, you will be given the option to “unsubscribe” from receiving further email communications from us at any time.  Your option not to receive promotional and marketing material from us will not preclude us from corresponding with you, by email or otherwise, regarding existing or past business relationships with us, and will not preclude us from accessing and viewing your information in the course of maintaining and improving the Services. 
  2. Cookies. You can set your browser to refuse all or some cookies or alert when cookies are being sent.  If you disable or refuse cookies or block the use of other technologies, some parts of the Services may then be inaccessible or may not function properly. 
  3. Third-Party Tracking.Third-parties, other than our service providers, do not have authorization from us to track which websites, apps, or other online services you visit prior to and after visiting the Site or Services.  Please note, however, that we cannot control third-party tracking and there may be some third-party tracking that occurs without our consent or knowledge.

H. Users Outside of the United States

We are headquartered in the United States.  Personal information may be accessed by us or transferred to us in the United States or to our affiliates, business partners, or service providers elsewhere in the world.  If you are located outside of the United States, be advised that any information you provide to us will be transferred to and stored in the United States and that, by submitting information to us, you explicitly authorize its transfer and storage within the United States.  We will use reasonable measures to protect the privacy and security of personal information according to this Policy regardless of where it is processed or stored within the United States.

L. Children’s Privacy

Our Site and Services are intended for users who are at least 18 years of age and can legally enter into a binding contract. We do not knowingly collect, use or store any personal information from children who are under 16 years of age.
